Ground Transportation
Multiple transportation options are available at Hilton Head Island Airport to get you to your final destination on the island and throughout the Lowcountry. The hotels/villas on Hilton Head Island usually do not offer shuttle service. Most arriving passengers have pre-arranged rental cars or take a taxi upon arrival. Guests arriving via private aircraft can call a taxi upon arrival or make their own rental car arrangements. For added convenience, general aviation customers are encouraged to make rental car reservations through our FBO, Signature Flight Support.
Taxi Service
Licensed taxi service is available at the airport. Taxis queue at the ground transportation area outside the terminal. Available taxis wait at the taxi stand (upon exiting the building, the taxi stand is on the right) for each scheduled airline arrival.

Rental Cars

Rideshare Services
Uber and Lyft are both available at Hilton Head Island Airport. Rideshare pickup is located at the ground transportation area directly outside the terminal exit.

- Follow signs to the Ground Transportation / Rideshare pickup area
- Match the vehicle description and license plate in your app
- Rideshare services operate 24/7 based on driver availability
Pickup & Drop-Off
- Have passengers confirm their airline, flight number, and arrival time
- Track flight status for delays or early arrivals
- Coordinate by phone/text when passenger is ready at curbside
- Be aware that baggage claim can take 15-30 minutes after landing
- Plan to arrive at the airport 90 minutes before departure for drop-offs
- Keep traffic moving – load quickly and pull away from curb
- Follow all posted signs and directions from airport staff
